First Blog entry!
For months now I have been toying with writing my memoirs. Not so much for anybody else to really read, but my greatgrandmother and my father have done this and it means so much to those left behind.
What is interesting, is that there have been some rather severe turning points in my life and since I have never kept a journal, when I think back on them, sometimes I wonder. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? Like how could I have let the love of my life who looked like the Marlboro man in the late 60's get away?
So, although, most of this will be totally mundane, I think I really need to do this, because I have CRS (Can't Remember Shit!).
Okay, so I found it almost IMPOSSIBLE to get up this morning. I have not been to work since Aug. 5.
I went to Al's Saturday with Audra. Saturday and Sunday were delightful weather days. Sunny, cool, breeze blowing. We all just hung around the picnic table and wasted the whole day.
Monday Cand and I took the girls to Sandy Hook Beach. The weather, again, was delightful. Not too hot. This was Audra's first beach trip and she loved it and between Candy, me and the big straw hat, she did not get sunburnt!
Tues. we took the train from Denville to Penn Station. We went to the top of the Empire State Building. Then we rode "the Beast". What fun! We got thoroughly soaked. Poor Audra was the first to get it and she wailed!
We then hoofed it to Grand Central Station. Boy what a space! I would have loved to eat at that Oyster restaurant, but not with the crowd I was with.
We then walked back to Penn Station, mostly via 5th Ave. We saw a store dedicated entirely to Meow Mix!
Came back Wed. Spent the night in MY bed. Then left Thur. for the parental units in South Boston with 18 crabs in the trunk.
Audra got to ride Marsha's horse, Zeb King. Made her day.
Watched the opening ceremonies for the Olympics.
Went to church! OhMIGod!
Came home. Sooooo tired. Told Audra I was tired and it would be best not to talk to me unless her hair was on fire or snakes were coming out of my butt!
Took Audra home Monday. We were going to stop by Butler's Orchard to pick blackberries and flowers, but Butler's was closed. Audra informed me about Tammy's Garden. Cut flowers for her mother there and go some fresh produce.
Came home. Made sweet, sweet, love to JT. Cooked up a scrumptions country ham meal with fresh produce.
